PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES
DECOTEC’s project management services offered are based on the 10 areas of the Project
Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK), namely Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Risk,
Communication, Procurement, Stakeholder Management and Human Resources. In addition, DECOTEC places special emphasis on the management of safety, health and environmental risks.
The project management services offered by DECOTEC is applicable to the following project management disciplines and/or areas:

The objective of DECOTEC’s project management services is to ensure proper management of the work of the project in terms of scope, cost, time and quality to the required specification, fit for purpose which is aligned with industry best practices including the following;
Perform Project Front-end Planning
Ensuring that the released project is planned according to front-end planning principles and managed in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
- Pre-plan Project: Ensuring the project is linked to both an approved Business Case and Benefits Realisation Plan, the Project Charter is developed and approved, and the necessary work is done as input to the concept release approval gate.
- Conceptualise Project: Ensuring the Project Management Plan is developed and approved, single solution and concept design is obtained, and the necessary work is done as input to the definition release approval gate.
- Define Project: Ensuring a definition solution is obtained and the necessary work is done as input to the execution release approval gate.
Ensuring that the project solution is finalised, implemented, handed over and closed out in accordance with the agreed scope and success criteria.
- Finalise Project Solution: Ensuring that the project solution is finalised and ready for implementation.
- Implement and Handover Project: Ensuring the project solution is implemented and ready for hand over.
- Close Project: Ensuring the completed project is signed off and that the investment submission is prepared.
Manage and Control Project
Ensuring the project activities, project gates and project changes are managed and controlled, the contracts are consolidated from a project perspective and project performance is monitored and reported.
- Control Project Delivery: Ensuring project activities are performed in accordance with the Project Management Plan and the baselined Project Deliverables Register.
- Monitor Project Performance: Ensuring project performance is monitored and reported on in accordance with the project performance reporting and progress requirements.
- Manage Project Change: Ensuring that project changes are formally controlled and managed.
- Consolidate Project External Contracts: Ensuring that the procurement and contractual obligations of external contracts have been met for the project.
